Kam Suan Pheng

Dr Kam is a geoinformatics (GIS) expert, trained in natural and agricultural science, and natural resource management. She has led and managed multi-disciplinary and multi-team projects in academia and at international research centres that brought her to many countries in Asia, Africa and the Pacific. Dr Kam boasts an impressive 35 years of experience in research and teaching at institutions such as Universiti Sains Malaysia, the International Rice Research Institute in the Philippines, and the WorldFish Center in Penang. In June 2023 she was awarded the "Tokoh Geospatial Pulau Pinang" by The Chief Minister of Penang for leading the establishment of the Penang GIS (PEGIS) facility for the State in 1992.

Lim Kah Cheng

Ms Lim is a retired lawyer who is passionate about revitalising rivers. She believes clean rivers hold the key to our wellbeing. She is an active member of the Women’s Centre for Change, Penang (WCC) and the Bold Association for Children with Special Needs, Penang (BOLD).  She was a councillor at MPPP (now MBPP) from 2008-2010.

Chee Heng Leng

In her previous role as a councillor at the MBPP (City Council of Penang Island), Dr. Chee, along with Dr. Kam, initiated a river mapping and awareness program. They conducted surveys and public awareness campaigns for two rivers, the 'Jom Kenali Sungai Kelian' campaign (2019) and the 'Raikan Sungai Ara' campaign (2018). Both projects garnered support and participation from local communities, the council, and Penang's Perbadanan Bekalan Air (PBA). Dr Chee spent many years as an academic researcher and lecturer, and is an advocate for equitability in health care. She continues to be active in the Citizens’ Health Initiative.

Executive Director

Evelyn Teh

Ms Evelyn, an environmental and urbanization researcher, has conducted extensive research on natural resources management and environmental impact assessments in Malaysia since 2007. Trained in marine biology, environmental management, city design, and social science, she contributes versatile expertise to policy discussions at state and federal levels. With former affiliations at institutions like the Maritime Institute of Malaysia, Penang Institute, and the Third World Network, Ms. Teh is frequently consulted for her insights on cross-sectoral issues, focusing on climate change, sustainable development, and social justice.
